Christmas Eve Thoughts!

As the year end comes to the end and we all find ourselves saying the cliché phrase “wow, the year has gone by quickly”, I’d just like to say holy moly the year has gone by quickly, quicker than it has ever felt.

December crept up unnoticed. I found myself a week into December without a Christmas tree, which would have been unthinkable in previous years. And now it’s Christmas eve.

I’ve done all my Christmas shopping, but the other usual pre-Christmas activities have unfortunately been neglected this year. Sightseeing of the fabulous/ostentatious local Christmas lights, listening to carolling and checking out the Christmas festivities in the city have all been unintentionally forgone this year.

Finishing off the working year has kept me very preoccupied. Personal tribulations have also contributed to the lack of festive feelings. However, even though the lead up to Christmas hasn’t been very Christmasy I am still so excited for tomorrow. The real holiday spirit will really hit tomorrow and continue on with some fun and relaxing beach trips.

In true Aussie chill style, offices have put their ‘Closed’ sign up and the auto-reply email has been switched on for the next two weeks. I have never been more excited to just chill and do nothing, as long as there is some water near me.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas filled with food and fun memories and takes the time out to unwind, relax and recharge.

I’d love to know, what are your plans for the Christmas break? Do you/countries outside of Australia have a long Christmas and new year break?

Thanks for reading!
