Dress: Self Portrait - Striped Mesh Column Dress (similar), Sunglasses: Asos (similar), Shoes: Spur (similar), Clutch: Mon Purse (similar), Bracelet: Tiffany and Co, Bangle: H&M (similar), Lipstick: Bobbi Brown Red Carpet, Watch: Marcby Marc Jacobs

The first time I saw a Self-Portrait dress was on my instagram feed. I habitually scroll through my feed every few minutes (because I am a self-confessed social media addict), although rarely do I go further than a like and comment on a photo. However, when Aimee from Songofstyle instagramed the Liliana dress I searched the Self-Portrait profile, then their website and later their stockists. As I browsed through their pages of beautifully detailed, layered and textured pieces I knew I was hooked. The only thing that stopped me from adding to cart and clicking proceed to checkout was the $$$$$$$.

Luckily, the lovely Roxy Jackeno (PR queen of Australia) was selling pieces from her amazing closet (have you checked out the outfits she posts?!?). And you guessed it, she was selling this Self-Portrait dress BNWT for an exceptional price. All hail Roxy! So after lusting for a Self-Portrait dress for a while I finally had my hands on one and wore it to a uni ball, it was a great night in my striped mesh column dress.

Update: I recently just acquired another Self -Portrait piece so stay tuned for another post from this wonderful brand soon.

Also, this is not sponsored by Self-Portrait, I just really f***king love their designs.

Vest: Topshop (similar), Jumpsuit: Primark (similar), Sunglasses: Prada, Bangle: H&M, Braclet: Tiffany & Co, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Ring: Oroton, Pouch: Mon Purse, Shoes: Asos (similar splurge pair and a save pair)

A sleeveless blazer/vest and jumpsuit is my new favourite combination. Two simple pieces but when layered together create a tailored and refined look. For this look I added block heels (that I stomp in, not walk), my usual hand jewellery and a black pouch.

I found some great jumpsuits and vests from NewChic that would work great together.

Here are the pieces:

Dress: Asos, Hat: Sportsgirl, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Ring: Oroton, Bangle: H&M, Bracelet: Tiffany & Co

Last month I said goodbye to Melbourne's unstable weather and hello to the lovely climate and surroundings of Surfers Paradise. Finally there was consistent sun and moderate heat, so my summer dresses were definitely not shy for the week.

My go-to easy summer outfit is a dress or overalls with sandals and a hat.

I found these perfect items on Shein, including a couple of dresses similar to dresses pictured above.

So here are my top summer picks from Shein:

Charming Paris

Dec 14' - Jan 15'

Firstly I want to say Happy New Year! I ended 2014 and entered 2015 in Paris and I can't believe it has already been a year since that occurred.

After doing 2 units of introductory French at university (and fully appreciating the difficulties of learning another language) I thought I was ready to French in France. Later realising I was very nervous to français and only spoke very basic phrases: "Bonjour! Je voudrais…", "Oui oui!" ,"C'est tout!" and most importantly "Aidez-moi, s'il vous plaît!!!!!". Let's hope now after 4 units of university French, I am much more confident to expand outside of these basic sentences.

Language notes aside, Paris is beautiful.

Many of us possess the romanticised view of Paris, it's the city of love with the grand buildings and the picturesque gardens. I know I have made the bold statement of declaring many cities in Europe as beautiful but Paris is on another level. The media is constantly portraying the landmarks of Paris, we've all seen the Eiffel Tower in countless movies and also cushion covers. We are always reminded of the beauty of Paris even if we have never been there. For me, it lived up to every beautiful expectation. As a very keen tourist, I visited many of the famous monuments and was astounded at them all. Pont Alexandre, Notre Dame, etc. were amazing and the views surrounding it whether it was gardens or roads added to the charm. I loved just sitting at different places and absorbing the views. The only thing that restricted my view was the hoards and hoards of people (most of which were tourists just like me), the only thing stopping myself from moving there. Although I would love to visit again and practice my mild french skillz.
