This market opened a few months ago, but unfortunately I did not get the chance to go earlier because of university exams and then I went travelling. I'd seen so many instagram posts of the market with all the yummy food it had to offer; belgian waffles, ice-cream and so much more. So my first weekend back home in Melbourne I finally went and also got to catch up with a friend whilst there. The weather this weekend was confusing (Melbourne's summer weather is very bipolar), so there weren't many stalls open and the stalls I'd seen on instagram were not there. It was disappointing but I guess it just means that I'll have to go another time. I'm not complaining though because it's an excuse to eats lots of junk food.
My friend and I got a vietnamese iced coffee, a nice sitting spot under shade and caught up on the last 6 weeks of each other's lives that we had missed out on.
I want to explore more of the markets the city has to offer during the summer period. The prospect of having lots of choice in food, eating outside and finding unique bits and bobs excites me. Hopefully there will be another trip to Batman market when more stalls are open and the various summer markets throughout Melbourne.
Do you know of any good markets in Melbourne? What are your favourite markets in your city?
