A patriotic royal blue column skirt for Australia Day!
To my fellow Australians I hope you had a great celebration whether it was watching the fireworks, chilling on the beach or having a traditional BBQ.
Whilst the meaning and name behind Australia Day is a bit of a contentious issue in society I think that shouldn't hinder the fact that we should celebrate this wonderful, cohesive and multicultural country. I am so lucky to be born and raised in such a beautiful country with an amazing culture. I am ever so grateful for the opportunities this country gives to me and I will never take it for granted.
In Melbourne the fireworks were held at Docklands, with thousands of people surrounding the waterfront. It was a spectacular display but the audible and constant oo-ing and arr-ing is pretty funny because people act like they have never seen fireworks before (which may be true for some). It was a lovely night with great weather, it wasn't too hot and there wasn't a chilly breeze felt at all.
I hope you had a happy Australia day :)
