There's something about christmas decorations lining the city streets that make people a little less pushy on the crowded side walk and a little more smiley. I guess that Christmas Spirit for ya!
It's so lovely to see families old and young exploring what Melbourne has to offer in elaborate Christmas decorations, from the annual Myer Christmas Windows and Santa Land, City Square being transformed into Christmas Square and the new Gingerbread Village inside the Town Hall.
Whilst the usual hustle and bustle of the city prevents most people from really enjoying the sights and sounds of Christmas in the city, I really wanted to take the time to absorb and really take in the beauty of how this wonderful city is transformed into a summer Christmas wonderland (even though the bipolar weather in Melbourne means that it really does not feel like summer at all).
If you are a Melburnian or visiting Melbourne soon take the time to really observe, participate and appreciate how much Christmas spirit is being shared in this delightful city.
