The City of Melbourne definitely loves food, it seems like there is always some pop up food market or food festival occurring. The Night Noodle Markets sees Alexandra Gardens turned into a celebration of Asian food with tents of food vendors bordering the gardens and tables and beer gardens in between.
The Markets looked amazing with the lights, laterns and shabby chic Asian decor, which attracted a large amount of people. It was difficult to freely manoeuvre due to the huge influx of people to Alexandra Gardens and each vendor had a lengthy line to order food. After some unsuccessful exploring of the markets due to the difficulty in walking around, my parents and I decided to join a line which happened to be for Thai food which I was joyous about. After visiting Thailand a couple of times I have become quite fond of their cuisine and was excited to try some more. After waiting in what felt like a perpetual line and made even more excruciating by the dad jokes coming from the people behind me, we finally ordered pad thai, fried pork and papaya salad. My mum had also bought coconuts and chocolate pancakes for deserts, so all in all it was a great meal. If you're in Melbourne I would definitely recommend going there if you're not fearful of large crowds and waiting for long periods of time. Also don't buy the coconuts, they were $10 for one.. What a rip off?!?!
